At the end of May, more than 200 midwifery students of the Haramaya University and Gondar University in Ethiopia started with their e-learning journey to enhance their skills and knowledge about sexual and reproductive health and rights. A topic closely related to their midwifery profession, but often rarely touched upon within their university curriculum.
The Ethiopian Midwives Association and Health[e]Foundation – Global Health department of Amsterdam UMC/University and the collaboration Ethiopian universities / TVET colleges, funded by Nuffic, introduced a project to strengthen universities’ SRHR curriculum development and support the educational system to deliver competent, gender-sensitive and entrepreneurial midwifery graduates.
The current COVID-19 pandemic shows the power and need of digitalization in many sectors. One of the sectors that made a quick digital shift is the educational sector.
