Community health workers (CHWs) can contribute to reducing maternal and neonatal mortality in rural communities by providing relevant health information, promoting health-seeking behavior, and facilitating healthcare access. However, their effectiveness and reach are hindered by high workloads and gaps in skills and knowledge. Digital health interventions (DHIs) can help address these challenges. Two DHIs – a blended learning approach and the LUCY Care mHealth application – were piloted within the context of national community health programs in Ethiopia and Kenya.
