The Health[e]Foundation team is very pleased to welcome Georgie Bouwknecht on board to conduct her academic research internship with our organization. We are looking forward to working with Georgie and the valuable contribution that she will make to further improve our activities and strengthen our organization.

My name is Georgie, and I will be an intern at the Health[e]Foundation for the next 5 months! I moved to the Netherlands to study in 2018 after living in Arusha, Tanzania for 17 years, but I am originally from the UK and the Netherlands! I am currently a first year Global Health student at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, which I started following the completion of my bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences in Utrecht. I have always been interested in health and global health, but my specific focuses are maternal and sexual and reproductive health, which I will be focusing on through my time at the Health[e]Foundation. I will be focusing on the data from the TENA-IVR and LUCY projects in Ethiopia as the basis for my research, where I hope to be able to both give back to the target populations, stakeholders, and Health[e]Foundation, and develop my own skills in research, analysis, and NGO work!
