To the eLearning Africa Conference in Rwanda

Guess everyone has ever experienced an invitation for a party where you are a little doubtful whether you should look forward or not as you don’t exactly know what to expect and then it proofs to be one of the better parties since a long time.

This was the experience when Rwanda country representative Marie Michelle Umulisa and managing director Nadine Pakker participated in the 13th International Conference & Exhibition on ICT for Education, Training & Skills Development in Kigali, Rwanda on 27 – 28 September.

The setting was great in terms of location (Kigali Convention Centre as a proof of Rwanda’s impressive development), audience (a midsize conference attended by inspired people from all over the world with a technical, implementation, commercial, NGO, government or global key-player background), the level of presentations and the interaction.

The recurring theme was Africa’s readiness for the 4th Industrial Revolution, set to be a transformation “unlike anything humankind has experienced before”. Characterized by a fusion of technologies, it will fundamentally alter the way we live, work and relate to one another. This revolution will be faster and more scalable and will be adopted by many more people as compared to the previous ones.

In line with the overarching theme of digital innovation, Health[e]Foundation presented its latest developments, the MyHealth@Hand application for healthcare workers and (expecting) mothers. By combining information, medical data and communication in one App we expect to contribute to better, safer and more efficient healthcare. Like the majority, if not all, the conference attendants, we are optimistic and ready for the future!
